With 2011 nearing a close we would like to wish all of you a very happy, and successful transition into the new year. Of course with new year approaching people everywhere are completing their yearly task of creating resolutions lists.  These annual lists are usually deemed as a way to start off the year on a "clean slate". Super Tips: Car Club Membership

We know all of you who are car lovers out there like us appreciate more than just the great selection that may be on the lot. It goes into research, attending car shows, car exhibitions, watching television shows dedicated to the subject, etcetera. You become enveloped in all things automobile related.

For true auto enthusiasts it is about the entire experience of a vehicle that makes it great. It becomes a badge of honor in some circles to be deemed a “connoisseur” of fine automobiles and for those of you who fit this bill; it is important to know where to share your knowledge.

Car clubs have long been the go-to for auto enthusiasts to share in their love of great cars. For those of you that may be wondering on how to join and the ins and outs of car club membership, we have a few suggestions for you below.

1.) Do your research.-Make great use of the knowledge available via the internet and at the library. Look through the ads sections of automotive trade magazines and publications. All provide great options on finding out the different car clubs that may be open to you in your area.

2.) Narrow down your options.-Different clubs has different policies and formal/informal structure. It is important to know ahead of time if you may have to pay dues, when and where meetings are generally held, club leadership, etc. Having this information will be handy when making a choice on whether or not to join.

3.) Attend a local event.-One of the best ways to know if a particular group is for you is to attend one of their sponsored events. Most of the active members will be present and it is a great opportunity to meet with and discuss what it is like to be a member. Plus you may be able to see some great rides!

Whatever you decide it is important to choose a car club that accurately reflects you and your lifestyle. We don’t advise joining with a group just for the particular “prestige” or perks it may provide. Car clubs are about enjoying the experience of car ownership and love of automobiles with fellow comrades.

Cadillac Continues Development of All-New ATS

DETROIT – It’s a given that the luxury cars contain high technology, but the finest must have something that cannot appear on the specification chart: expertise. Engineers working on the all-new Cadillac ATS, which begins production in 2012, were handpicked based on their roles in developing other top Cadillacs – and how well they can drive and evaluate cars on grueling test tracks.

Their shared goal: Create a new compact sport sedan challenging the best cars in that category. Most of the engineers on the team also developed Cadillac’s CTS and V-Series high-performance models, and have the highest level of training as test drivers. Some are certified drivers on Germany’s famed Nurburgring test track.

“It's been the persistent attention to detail in noise-vibration-harshness, the gram-by-gram mass reduction, and consistent focus on ‘fun to drive’ attributes that led this team to hone the suspension and steering in the demanding environments of the German Autobahn and Nurburgring Nordschleife,” said ATS lead development engineer Chris Berube.

The ATS will be unveiled in 2012 and will be built at the Lansing Grand River plant in Lansing, Mich., alongside the CTS Coupe, Sedan and Sport Wagon family.

Sons Reunite Father with His ’65 Impala After Two Decades

Chevrolet commercial and Internet video documents emotional homecoming

DETROIT – Herb Younger thought his cherished 1965 Impala SS was out of his life forever when he sold it in the 1980s to pay for his children’s education. Now his car is back with him, an emotional reunion captured on video for all to see.

Chevrolet, keeping with its theme of showcasing authentic moments, created a 60-second TV spot and long-form online version of the real-life homecoming.

Younger bought his Impala new in 1964 and amassed nearly a quarter century of family memories before selling it.

Two decades later, his sons decided to reunite their father with his Impala.  After five years of tracking Vehicle Identification Number leads through several states, they finally located their dad’s Impala in Canada and purchased it over the telephone. The car was still in pristine condition.

“It’s not just a car. It’s all the memories and feelings,” said Jared Younger. “It brings all that back.”

To capture the moment when Younger was reunited with his car, Chevrolet and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners conspired with Jared and his brother, Derek, and posed as a film crew documenting three generations of an American family. Little did Herb know, his Impala would come rumbling into view at a park where he was playing with his grandchildren. His recognition was instant. This was not a car like his. This was HIS car.

Pedestrian safety tips for Halloween

With the spooky fun filled day right around the corner we wanted to share a few of these great tips with you all on how to stay safe during the festivities. Don’t want any of your little zombies getting hurt out there!

· Cross streets safely. Cross at a corner, using traffic signals and crosswalks. Try to make eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them. Don’t assume that because you can see the driver, the driver can see you. Look left, right and left again when crossing, and keep looking as you cross. Walk, don’t run, across the street.

· Walk on sidewalks or paths. If there are no sidewalks, walk facing traffic as far to the left as possible. Children should walk on direct routes with the fewest street crossings.

· Children under age 12 should not go trick or treating without adult supervision. If you are mature enough to go tick-or-treating without supervision, stick to a predetermined route with good lighting.

· Be a safe pedestrian around cars. Watch for cars that are turning or backing up. Never dart out into the street or cross in between parked cars.

For the next few months Superior Buick Cadillac will have a bin for patrons and staff to donate items toward Harvesters’ Food Bank.

The winter months can be a troublesome time for many lower-income Kansas City residents and Harvesters' food bank serves as an important lifeline. It is estimated that up to 66,000 people receive assistance through Harvesters' each week. This number is expected to rise as the holiday months draw near and demand for food grows higher.

The New Holden Cruze earns a 5-star safety rating

Congratulations are in order! The new Holden built Cruze hatch is making quite the splash down under. It recently was just awarded the highest safety rating from the Australasian New Car Assessment Program.

The newly minted 5-star rated vehicle will be among the latest of their successful car line joining the sedan in the mid-size Australian car market. Its sleek body and sharp design features provide a sense of sportiness and style that compliment the safety benefits.
